I've never really had "good skin". It is so picky. It breaks out when it's too dry, breaks out when it's too oily, breaks out if I touch it, if it's pulled back too tight (thank you, Derek Zoolander), you get the idea. It's high maintenance, to say the least so, I know a thing or two when it comes to skin care. I've used every line you can think of and let's just say the husband wasn't real thrilled when he'd see the amounts in the debit section on the ol' bank statements.
Everyone's skin types and needs are different, but I have found a comprehensive line that both my skin and my bank account love.
Please tell me the amount of bottles and jars seen here are normal (so that I can confess to all the others that didn't make it into the shot).
Mario Badescu is where it's at. It has a solution for every and any skin type. The website is super easy to navigate and find what you need and you get so much value for the price. With each order you also get to choose 3 samples, which are awesome if you're on the fence about trying something, or just need your favorites in a travel size.
Here's my current regimen:
- Acne Control Kit
- Buffering Lotion
- Anti-Acne Serum
- Hydrating Moisturizer w/ Biocare & Hyaluronic Acid
I am still trying to figure out the Buffering Lotion. I love it and it clears up blemishes like whoa. It however, is a liquid and it comes in a squeeze bottle. It says to use your fingertips to apply, but that was a hot mess. I've been dabbing it on q-tips, but I feel like I waste so much, so still trying to figure that out, but all in all, I love the product.
It's a balancing act with my skin. Sometimes I'll have to replenish with a hydrating mask or not use the Buffering Lotion for a few days, but I've got it pretty much figured out. If you have troubled skin, or are just unhappy with your current line, take a look at MB.
I have also found that on days where I don't drink enough water, it almost immediately affects my skin. Fruits like cantaloupe and watermelon and veggies help my skin out a ton as well. I notice a big difference when I make it a point to up my greens. The ACV Drink really seemed to help my skin, but I have to talk myself into it and lately, I haven't been able to.
Here's what helps me get in my 99 ounces of water a day
It sounds crazy, but it's super easy to drink out of. I have it full at all times and carry it with me everywhere. I kinda freak if I'm out somewhere and don't have water. It's like not having my phone.
And how could I forget this?!?! This is crucial to my hair and skin staying healthy.
I'm not a huge makeup person, so I just have a few essentials. I'm one of those people that look worse with makeup on. I look like RuPaul anytime I've even tried to wear lipgloss. It's not pretty, people.
These are current faves:
- Philosophy A to Z Cream in Medium
- Mally Volumizing Mascara
- Mally Waterproof Eyeliner
- Cherry Chap-Stick
This A to Z Cream is like magic. It's been my favorite BB Cream I've tried so far. It's light and got just the perfect amount of coverage. And the Mally eyeliner and mascara are ah-mazing. They stay put during workouts and long days of running around like a crazy person.
That's my routine! What do you guys love? Anything I need to try?
