Satisfied

The reason I started blogging was probably the same as so many other people - to have an adult conversation and to record my life. It also serves as an accountability factor for me. I am definitely not an expert on the majority of things I post about, but it's my way of making a verbal commitment to you (all three of you, hi Grandma.) and making me much more likely to follow through.

As of late however, I've become satisfied. I worked my butt off to get here, but now it's become my new comfort zone. I've gotten comfortable with where I'm at and have really become lax with my diet and workouts. I've started noticing that I'm actually getting less done and having less energy. Not cool.

So, I am going to start journaling and sharing what I eat and what my workouts are each day. I will still share projects since we're working on things, like the patio right now so, there may be more than one post in a day. PS. Here's a sneak peek of that.

The rug...OBSESSED with, so stay tuned :)

I'd love to have you follow along with me, if you'd like. I don't know about you but for me, I need that accountability and support factor to keep going, even when I don't want to. Also, food journaling...hate it. HATE it. I don't know why, but it's just such a chore to me. I tell everyone on my team to do it at some point so, I have to do it too. Follow along and join in at MyFitnessPal @niki_hellostripes. This is by far the best tracking app and bonus - it already has all Advocare products built into the database. Ok so, moment of truth....

June 1, 2013 is after an 8-week hiatus from Cross Fit that started with a sick little one and has continued due to a conflict of scheduling with preschool and the times the box offers child care. You can tell a definite difference. I'm afraid to even see what my one rep maxes are right now. I've also been slacking big time on my Catalyst and Muscle Gain (in addition to diet) so, that has a lot to do with it.

Starting Monday (I hate saying that, it sounds so cliche, but it's Saturday and Sundays are rest days), I will be embarking on yet another leg of my journey. I would love it if you'd join me and keep me filled in in the comments section or on instagram :) you can follow along @niki_hellostripes

Here's to a great rest of the weekend.

See you Monday!

  1. Can't wait to see the porch. We just purchased new furniture for ours and I am now having fun accessorizing. Great honest post. I keep "saying" I am going to do something (lose weight/exercise more), but never follow through with it! My biggest thing is being lazy about making meals for myself. I really have no excuse as for most of the year it is just hubby and I now that the youngest is in college (and she loves to exercise and eat healthy). I just tend to get frustrated because I know a lot has to due with age/hormones, and it is REALLY hard to make the scale budge!! I applaud you for allowing us to follow along.

    1. I saw you were re-doing yours. LOVE the tin idea :) You're right. The food part is what will make or break you and it's definitely the hardest part. I try to prep a lot of things at once because I know when I get tired and need good food the most, I won't want to do anything but pull it out of the fridge and warm it up. I also understand about the age thing. Things just don't come off like they used to... ;) Thank you for following along and when you're ready, think about doing a 24-day challenge. It will change your whole way of thinking :)

  2. OK, is it wrong of me to think you look awesome right now? But I know what you mean...it's a slippery slope once we get lazy and you don't want to go back to "before", I know all too well. I will be following along and cheering you on, and of course as usual, being inspired. I need to get my act together and get on board w/u to do this!! That would require a well-planned out grocery trip. And meal-planning. And me to stop flying by the seat of my pants. One of these days. Can't wait to see the porch - looks like it's gonna be WAY amazing.

    1. You're so sweet, thank you! I just know that half of a long john leads to a whole long john then that leads to saddlebags that I worked my butt off to somewhat get rid of. Plus, I'm just a happier person when I sweat. It energizes me and I get more done. An object in motion tends to stay in motion, right?

I am telling you, Clean Mama's grocery list changed my life. I just keep it by the fridge and write things down as I run out. My grocery cart looks the same every time I go so that helps.

You better come down here and help me break it in with several margarita's! :)
